No!! If you have an emergency, call 911! LollyCall is not a substitute for 911 and LollyCall has no direct involvement with law enforcement or emergency responders.
Mary had a great aunt named Lolly and the word Lolly seemed to go well with the word Call.
No. We only ask that you receive at least one phone call a day.
Yes. You can receive up to six phone calls a day.
That's up to you. Some of our clients choose a time that serves as a wake-up call for them. Others choose a time that also serves as a reminder to take their medications. You choose the time(s) that work best for you.
Please let your contact person know if you're going to miss your call.
If you don't answer the phone, or don't press 1 when Lolly calls, your contact person will receive either a text or a phone call, whichever they have opted for. You have the option of having Lolly call again in 5 minutes before notifying your person. That's helpful in cases where you were on another call or couldn't get to the phone in time. (Please do not rush to get to the phone when Lolly calls!)
What happens after your contact person receives their text or phone call is up to the two of you. Most clients immediately text or call their contact person when they miss their call, while some have an agreement that the contact person doesn't need to do anything unless they don't hear from the client within a few hours. Other clients want their contact person to call them immediately if they receive a LollyCall notification and, if there's no answer, to check on the client in person or call the police to request a welfare check.
You can choose from a number of different voices. There is a robotic woman with an Australian accent whom we are rather fond of. There are also human male and female voices. But best of all, you can record any voice you want, saying anything you want, within the time constraint of about 30 seconds.
One of our clients gets a phone call every morning of her daughter singing to her. Do you want Tony Bennett to be the voice on your LollyCall? If you can get him to record it, we'll take care of the rest!
It's not uncommon for people to feel that they're not close enough to anyone to ask them to take on the burden of being their contact person. It does feel like a big ask. But in reality, it can be a fairly minimal responsibility. If you, as the client, always contact your person immediately when you miss a call, or notify them in advance if you know you are going to miss a call, your person really has very little to do.
In the event that something happens to you and you miss your call, your person can phone the police and ask them to do a welfare check. In fact, because your contact person has the option of calling the police, they don't even need to live in the same town as you.
A second option is to sign up with a buddy and be each other's contact people. We encourage you to do this, and are happy to offer both of you a 5% discount if you sign up as buddies!
Finally, you can hire someone to be your contact person. While we can't recommend anyone specific, we do maintain a list of people who are willing to contract with our clients to provide this service.
That does happen sometimes on Law and Order, but in real life, no, they most likely won't. If you want police to be able to do a welfare check on you, you'll need to have a lock box somewhere outside your door and your contact person or the police will need to know the combination.
Yes! Just let us know the dates and we will take care of it.
LollyCall relies on outside services for some of its functionality. It also relies on the telephone service of the people it is calling. There can and will be outages and blips. We've noticed that some of our clients who use wifi calling on their cell phones sometimes have issues.
We can't guarantee that LollyCall will be 100% reliable, but we can guarantee that as soon as we know about an issue, we'll alert you immediately. We also have an online report available for all of our clients that documents whether a phone call went out and how the person receiving the call responded.
You can call anytime to cancel. We'll end the service at the end of the time you've already paid for.
Yes, all clients begin with a free trial. We want you to test LollyCall and be sure it works for you.
